What is Kuopio Pelaa?
Kuopio Pelaa is a new type of gaming convention in Finland, bringing together gaming culture and people who love games. Unlike other gaming events in Finland, we want to mainly focus on providing quality speech presentations, but also offer a variety of program types for all ages. The event is substance-free.
The event returns in 17.–18.10.2026 after being successfully held for the first time in October 2025 and gathering over 500 visitors and presenters to Kuopio.
Kuopio Pelaa is held at Lumit, Kuopio High School of Arts (Koljonniemenkatu 48, 70100 Kuopio).
What type of program does Kuopio Pelaa offer?
Kuopio Pelaa features a rich and diverse program including competitions, workshops, a gaming room and lots of interesting presentations from indie developers, industry professionals and hobbyists alike. Our main focus is in video gaming, but last year we also included some card games and board games to our program.
Note: Most of our program will be in Finnish unless otherwise stated.
We also have a vendor hall where both vendors and independent artists can sell their gaming related products.
Can I offer program to Kuopio Pelaa or apply as a seller?
Yes you can! Our program applications are now open, you can find the application form here (linkki).
If you are interested in selling products at our event please contact sponsorit@kuopiopelaa.fi
Who is behind Kuopio Pelaa?
Kuopio Pelaa is made possible by Savon Pelikilta ry, a non-profit organization, and a committee of around 25 gaming enthusiasts. On the convention weekend we also have around 40 volunteers helping us to build the event.
We, the organizers behind everything, do not get paid. Kuopio Pelaa is our passion project, we do it out of love for games.
Is the event free? / Where can I get tickets?
You need to buy a ticket either in advance or from the event before entering. The ticket will be exchanged to a wristband at the door. We will be selling only two-day tickets.
Our ticket sale will start in early May at tiketti.fi.
This info will be updated accordingly once we have a definitive date for it.
